Frequently asked
What's the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA?
Unweighted GPA caps every class at 4.0. Weighted GPA gives extra points (often a full grade) for honors, AP, or IB classes, so an A in AP Physics can count as 5.0 instead of 4.0.
What is the 4.3 scale?
Some schools award 4.3 for an A+. It is still 'unweighted' in the sense that it does not bump honors or AP classes, but it rewards perfect scores. Check your school's policy first.
How are credit hours weighted?
Each course contributes grade-points × credits. Total grade-points are divided by total credits to get your GPA.
